This is still in the original protective glassine wrapper and also still in the original black and white promotional dustjacket, mentioning a major event in book club history, the publication of the De Luxe Collector's Edition from The Companion Book Club. Also includes a dropped-in copy of the book club flyer from March 1964. Young Elizabeth's life changed drastically when, in 1940, a group of RAF officers showed up in her small town and requisitioned her home for their base of operations. In 1979, directed by Renny Rye, this was made into a four-part television series starring Alison Elliott, Jill Bacon, Robin Davies, Michael Troughton and many others.
