8 Burton, Richard A CHRISTMAS STORY
New York William Morrow and Company 1964 Second Printing Hardcover Very Good Very Good- 8vo Lydia Fruhauf;
31 pp. Quarter-bound in red on orange cloth; small silver pictorial on the front panel; lettered in black and silver on the spine; gray endpapers; illustrated with line drawings by Lydia Fruhauf. Wear at the corners of the dustjacket with a few nicks and small chips around the edges; price intact; no interior markings. This is the Richard Burton who was married to Elizabeth Taylor, not the African explorer. Burton was quoted as saying that he would rather be a writer than an actor. And this is proof that he could have done it. Somewhat autobiographical, the story is told from the point of view of an eight year old boy living in a Welsh mining town, much like the one where Burton spent his childhood.
