This is a football novel featuring the great Tom Harmon as the lead character, facing the threat of losing his coach if the team doesn't win the conference championship while facing some of the toughest opposition ever. Illustrated with line drawings by Henry E. Vallely. Thomas Dudley Harmon, also known as Old 98, was a military pilot and a sports broadcaster, but before that, he was an All-American football player and a Heisman Trophy winner. During World War II, he was an Army pilot and, after the war, he played professional football with the L.A. Rams, going on to become a sports broadcaster, first for CBS, then for ABC.
